The sounds flirt with jazz but also root themselves in a firm undertanding of silence, or the sparse magic of simplicity. Bij Shabazz Palaces kun je terecht voor mysterie, een flink zootje ontploffingen en een onmogelijke visie op de koop toe. Bovendien is engagement hun handelsmerk. De spirit op ‘The Don…’, hun vijfde album, is nog weer sterker dan ie al was… embracing modernism in hip-hop and rap.
