Sinds Sea And Cake’s self-titled debuut in 1994 slaan ze een brug tussen Braziliaanse laten jaren 60 muziek, Afrikaanse gitaarinvloeden en indiepop. Met o.a. Sam Prekop en Tortoise drummer John McEntire. ‘The Biz’ is hun derde album, net als ‘Nassau’ uit 1995. Experimenteler dan de voorgangers, met lossere structuren. The Biz continues to showcase the bands ability to mesh together their unusual blend of pop, soul and jazz into seamless output.
